In the villages along the southern edge of the Sahara, restoration is not an abstraction or a line in a negotiating text. It is a season of work, a shared water point, and a decision about which trees to leave standing.
Young people are doing much of that work. They dig the half-moons that catch the rain, they run the nurseries, and they are the ones who will still be here in thirty years to see whether it held.
This is what the Hub exists to carry into the room at COP17: not youth as a symbol, but youth as practitioners with something specific to say about what works on degraded land.
